SEC filings, compared

A filings report you can quote.

Yearover compares two SEC filings and shows what changed. Every sentence carries the passage it came from, every figure carries its XBRL tag, period and accession number. When a check doesn’t pass, the report is held instead of published.

NVDANVIDIA Corp · Form 10-K · Item 1A, Risk Factors
Summary · quote-checked

The China risk factor now says NVIDIA is already effectively foreclosed from the China market, and that China's government has discouraged use of its data center products.

Filing text · FY2025 10-K · filed Feb 26, 2025

The Chinese government [removed] may also encourage customers to purchase from our China-based [removed] competitors, or impose restrictions on the sale to certain customers of our products, or any products containing components made by our partners and suppliers. [sentences omitted…] [removed] If the Chinese government [removed] modifies or implements the Action Plan in a way that effectively prevents us from being able to design products to meet the new standard, [removed] this may restrict the ability of customers to use some of our data center products and may have a material and adverse impact on our business, operating results and financial condition.

Filing text · FY2026 10-K · filed Feb 25, 2026

The Chinese government [added] has encouraged customers to purchase from our China-based [added] competitors and discouraged customers from purchasing, importing, or using our data center products, including any China-specific product designed to comply with U.S. export controls. [sentences omitted…] [added] Although we are already effectively foreclosed from the China market by U.S. export controls, if those controls changed to allow us to return to the market, the Chinese government [added] could modify or implement the Action Plan in a way that effectively prevents us from being able to design products to meet the new standard, [added] which may restrict the ability of customers to use some of our data center products and may have a material and adverse impact on our business, operating results and financial condition.

Quotes

Matched against the filing text. If a quote doesn't match, the change isn't published.

Numbers

Taken from XBRL tags, shown with the tag and filing. The model never computes a number; a figure in a summary is copied from the quote and checked.

Sources

Every change links to its paragraph on SEC EDGAR, with the accession number.

How a report is made

The comparison is computed. The model only explains it.

  1. 01Fetch from EDGAR

The original filing, stored once and never re-downloaded.

  2. 02Split into paragraphs

By Item and heading, the way the company wrote it.

  3. 03Match to last year

Identical text is set aside. Everything else is paired or marked added or removed.

  4. 04Explain, then check

A model sees only the changed pairs. Code checks every quote it cites against the filing.

  5. 05Numbers from XBRL

Looked up by tag and period. If a step isn't confident, the report waits for a human.

Methodology and accuracy

A missing report is acceptable. A wrong one isn't.

We will publish accuracy measured on a hand-labeled set of real filings before launch, with the sample, the date and the known limits.

Quotes are matched character for character against the filing text. Before matching, only typography and spacing are normalized: quotation marks, apostrophes, dashes and ellipses are standardized, invisible characters are removed and spacing is made consistent.

Questions

Before you sign up.

Is this investment advice?

No. Yearover shows what a filing says and what changed. It never tells you to buy, sell or hold anything, and every report is the same for everyone.

What does the AI actually do?

It reads the changed paragraph pairs and writes a one-line summary. It never sees unchanged text, never computes or invents a number (a figure in a summary must appear verbatim in the quote, and code checks it), and its quotes are checked by code.

Which filings and companies?

Five companies' annual reports (10-K) today. Quarterly (10-Q) and current reports (8-K) and more companies are next.

How fast is a report ready?

After the filing appears on EDGAR and passes our checks. If something isn't certain, a person looks first.

What happens to my email?

We use it to send the digest and launch news. No ads, no selling data, unsubscribe in one click.

Read the paragraph that moved, not the whole filing.

Free during beta. We store your email and the tickers you follow. Nothing else. Privacy.
